How do I select an indicator?
There are two ways you can find and select data of interest to you: via dropdown menus and search.
To select from a dropdown menu:
- Go to the Analyze page by clicking on the ‘Analyze’ button at the top.
- Under the ‘Indicators’ section click on the ‘Add+’ button. You will see a set of indicators to choose from organized by data source. Click through the data sources to explore your data organized in sub-groups. Choose an indicator of interest by clicking on an entry in one of the groups. You will know you have successfully chosen an indicator when the indicator name becomes listed under the ‘Indicators’ section and the indicator(s) data immediately appears on the middle of the page where you can start visualizing the data.
- If you click on the selected indicators, there are two indicator subcategories; Settings and About. The settings tab allows you to rename the label, select the required operation (sum, count, average, min, max and count distinct) and add additional filters. The about tab allows you to access indicator metadata.
Alternatively, you can use the search bar on the Analyze page to find your desired indicators. To do so:
- Click on the ‘Add+’ button under ‘Indicators’ section; you will see a search bar at the top of the dropdown.
- Enter keywords for the data of interest to you. All indicators containing the exact keywords you entered will be shown. Clicking on an indicator automatically adds it to your current query and becomes visible on your monitor.
Note that clicking on any of the blue “breadcrumbs” in the search results or in the search bar will route you directly to that group of indicators in the hierarchy. This can be used to quickly navigate the hierarchy up and down.
