How can I update the platform’s geographic matches?

  1. Navigate to Data Digest.

  1. Download mapping file(s) from the Mapping Files tab.

  1. For each location in the Unmatched Locations table, find the mapping file row that the location belongs in, then add that location to the first empty match column available for that row.

  • If a location has lots of matches, it might look like you ran out of match columns. For example, maybe the CSV file only went up to match_4, but you need to add another possible match for a location. In this case, you can add another match column — just make sure you number it correctly. If the last column was match_4, then the new column you add should be match_5.

  • If an unmatched location does not match any existing location, then it may be a new location. You can add rows to the mapping file for new locations, but an engineer will need to add new shape files, update the latitude and longitude, and add new query policies.

  1. Upload your updated mapping file via the ‘upload new mapping file’ modal, reachable by clicking the ‘Add Mapping File’ button on the bottom of the mapping files tab in Data Digest.

  1. Currently, this tool cannot be used to delete or add new canonical locations or update canonical location metadata. This work must still be handled by an engineer.
