How do I abbreviate the values of each bar in my chart?

When adding the value label to your visualizations and working with large number values, you can “abbreviate” the value using the K (thousands), M (millions) and B (billions) terminology. This will make your labeled visuals much cleaner.

To abbreviate your results:

1. Go to ‘Series’ in ‘Settings’
2. For the indicator you want to abbreviate, tick the ‘Show value’ box.
3. For the same indicator, under ‘Value display format’, choose ‘Abbreviated’ from the drop down menu. There are four abbreviation choices that allow you to decide the decimal places for your values on the bar chart.

Note that the platform automatically assigns ‘K’ (=Thousand), ‘M’ (=Million), ‘B’ (=Billion) or ‘T’ (=Trillion) to appropriately abbreviate the values based on the numbers’ size. Therefore, you may see values on a bar chart abbreviated to ‘K’, ‘M’ or ‘B’ as necessary.
