What is the process for adding new data sources to the Data upload tool?

  1. Click on the ‘Add Source’ button on the homepage of the Data upload tool. A new window will open.

  1. Select the Data Source Type.

For a CSV Source:

  • Add the datasource name.

  • Upload a file in csv format. The data must be in the Zenysis Base format which specifies the order of columns in the dataset, i.e. group by 1, group by 2, ..., group by N, date, indicator 1, indicator 2, ..., indicator N.

  • The date values should be in the format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2021-01-01).

  • Click on ‘Mapping’ to map dimensions and indicators in your CSV to the mapping required by the platform.

  • Preview your mapping and then ‘Complete Setup’.

  • Note that new indicators from your new source can now be set up in the Field Setup tool linked in the Data Upload table for your new source.

For a Dataprep Source:

  • Select the Dataprep integration from the list of ‘Existing Sources’ (only existing integrations can be added through this flow).

  • The datasource name updates automatically but can also be renamed.

  • Add the ‘Recipe ID’. This is a number that can be found in the Dataprep flow. Click on the last recipe step before the output and copy and paste the ‘Recipe ID’ in the URL.

  • The Recipe ID is the 7 digit code followed by ‘recipe=’.

  • Once that is done, hit ‘Complete Setup’.

Once you complete the setup, the new files will be processed and integrated in the next scheduled pipeline run. This information is viewable at the top of the Data Upload page.
